Message:
As part of a number of new views of Annual Business Survey (ABS) data being developed, and following several requests for this series, ABS has published an employment sizebanded series at SIC section level (comprising sections A-S) and covering the UK Business Economy for the years 2009 - 2011.
The data, which contain the standard ABS publication variables (Enterprise count, Employment, Turnover, approximate Gross Value Added, Purchases, Employment costs, Capital expenditure, Stocks) are split by four employment sizebands: 0-<10, 10-<50, 50-<250, 250+.
This employment breakdown will be incorporated into the standard ABS national releases going forward, with the first update available in the Annual Business Survey - 2011 Revised Results on 13th June 2013.

The dataset ''
ABS 09-11 - Sections A-S UK Business Economy by Employment Sizeband (118.5 Kb Excel sheet) " can also be found under reference number 001287 on the Published ad hoc data: business, requests during April 2013 on the Office for National Statistics (ONS) webpages.

We are constantly working to improve and develop ABS outputs. We would welcome any feedback you might have, and would be particularly interested in knowing how you make use of these data to inform your work. Please contact us via this forum or via email: abs@ons.gov.uk
