The Statistics User Forum (SUF), supported by the Office for National Statistics, aims to be the strategic voice of users of official statistics. The Forum acts as an umbrella organisation for user groups, each of which covers a particular area across the spectrum of official statistics. Through the Forum we enable open and constructive dialogue between users and producers of official statistics and encourage communication across the user community.

We still have places available on our two-day professional development training course 'Consultancy Skills.' This course will be held at the Royal Statistical Society on 6 & 7 March 2018.

This is a highly participative and practical two day training course for statisticians who wish to improve their consultancy skills non-statistical clients. By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Review the many context-related and interpersonal difficulties that statisticians may encounter during consultancy interactions
  • Offer models, theories or paradigms that shed light on why these difficulties may arise
  • Indicate which ways of working might be most effective with various clients
