This post provides the opportunity to be responsible for the Department's flagship Taking Part National Statistic survey and play a key role in developing the Department's use of statistics. You will be part of a statistics team at the heart of providing the Department's evidence and you will work directly with policy colleagues, private offices and strategy teams to drive the Department's use of data for decision-making.

- You will project manage the £1.4m per year Taking Part survey on culture, sport and volunteering. This includes both managing the delivery of data from the suppliers, developing new questionnaire content through to publication of quarterly and annual statistical releases. You will lead on providing Ministerial briefing on these participation statistics.
- You will work flexibly within the statistics team and to deliver excellent project- based analytical support and advice across the Department . You will also be the statistical contact for the DCMS tourism policy team, and work with our partners Visit Britain and Visit England and the ONS on data provision.
- You will work across the department to embed the use of statistics in all areas of policymaking and develop the presentation, dissemination and visualisation of the Department's statistics. You will provide statistical leadership for policy teams who lead on producing statistical publications. You will have the opportunity develop the provision of open data and survey data.
- You will activity manage one Statistical Officer and support the Head of Profession for statistics in delivering the Department's statistical work plan, meeting the requirements of National Statistician's Office and providing guidance to our Arm's Length Bodies.
