Hi Piers Thanks for that. We have 1,332 licenced HMOS in Bristol so that figure looks about right. I'm struggling with definitions in my head I think. Jayne

The only table I have found is KS401 which has shared dwellings in it; QS418 doesn't give any extra information. You can calculate the number of household spaces in shared dwellings as 2*Shared Dwell with 2 HHld Spaces + (Total HHld Spaces - 2*Shared Dwell with 2 HHld Spaces - Unshared Dwellings=Shared Dwell with 3 or more HHld Spaces). So for Bristol City, this gives 1,905 HHld Spaces in Shared Dwellings - is that the right sort of ball park? Piers
