Nick, Can you confirm that there will be a note on your comparisons documents about the issue of undercount in some local authorities in the 2001 Census, which will affect comparability? Regards, Linda

Neil
We plan to publish to a key statistics interface document next week. This will also include some comparability between 2001 and 2011 Census data. We will inform census users when this and the Quick Stats table, QS209EW on Ethnic Group (detailed) are published.

Hi Neil
ONS have published a document here:

Thanks Nick,
Is there any guidance documentation on how to make comparisons between 2001 and 2011 census statistics, and if so could you point me towards this please? Where table structures are the same this is straightforward but where categories have changed (e.g. ethnic group) it would be good to use whatever rules you have in place so anything I output will match any figures produced by ONS.
Thanks
Neil

ONS has now published the 2011 Census key statistics at local authority level on its website at http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/guide-method/census/2011/index.html The release is supported by data visualisation, statistical bulletins, with commentary and short stories on international migration, ethnic group and identity, religion, and (in Wales) Welsh language.
