ONS would like to invite users of the household expenditure and income estimates to a user workshop and seminar.
The seminar will cover the Consumer Trends and Economic Position of Households publications, and the detailed estimates contained within, which feed into the estimate of the size of the UK economy (GDP).
The seminar will offer:
- users and potential users a chance to provide feedback on how they use our data and what future developments they would like to see
- presentations from the household expenditure and income teams on how the estimates are compiled, as well as analyses conducted by ONS and future developments
- presentations from two users* on how they use household expenditure and income estimates (including the savings ratio)
* A confirmed presentation from The Institute of Fiscal Studies and discussions ongoing with The Bank of England. These presentations will be used to generate discussion around the ONS estimates. For reasons of market sensitivity and confidentiality there will not be the opportunity to ask questions of The Bank of England representative.
The event is free of charge. However, spaces for the seminar are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please RSVP by email to consumer.trends@ons.gsi.gov.uk
