The Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR), an arm of the UK Statistics Authority, is exploring the strengths and weaknesses of the UK-wide adult social care statistical landscape. Through this systemic review project, we want to understand the trustworthiness, quality and value of statistics, specifically:

    • Coherence and compilation across statistics publications
    • Accessibility, clarity, and insight of publications
    • Gaps and a prioritisation of urgency, importance, etc. to address
    • Transparency
    • Quality of key data sources
    • Opportunities for data linking

We are engaging with adult social care statistics users and producers across the four nations for this review. We are interested in speaking with you and/or your colleague(s) that use these statistics. We're keen to know your thoughts about the strengths and weaknesses of the statistics and what future improvements you think could be useful for your work.

We aim to publish a report in November/December 2018 with a section on each country based on our own desk research and findings from producers and users. The report will include recommendations to improve the public value (e.g. accessibility, coherence, insight) of the statistics.

If you would like to get in touch to discuss these statistics please email me on - please note, we have a deadline of the 6 July.

    Thank you
