Dear StatsUserNet (SUN) user,
We heard at the SUF meeting on 26th November that SUN in its current form is not sustainable. It needs either to be rebuilt or to be replaced by migrating to another platform. It is vitally important that all users of SUN are involved in this. There are many separate communities of interest on SUN, each with their own way of using SUN. We therefore need your input. There are two actions I am asking you to take, please.
SUF and ONS are planning a workshop to be held in January. This will be a tele-conference between two rooms (in ONS London and ONS Newport), with the further option of dialling-in from your own phone. We are holding two slots for this, so the first action is for you, please, to let the SUF Secretariat <email@example.com> know, by Weds 19th December, which of these dates you prefer, and how you would join the workshop (ie in London, in Newport, or by phone):
Thursday 10th January 2019, 15:00 – 17:00
Wednesday 16th January, 12:30 – 15:00
We will then confirm the arrangements for the workshop - and it will still be possible, indeed welcomed, for people to sign up to the workshop at that stage if you have not done so already!
The second action is for everyone - whether or not you can make the SUN workshop - to consider your requirements from StatUserNet. What do you rely on it for now? What would you like it to do in the future? How should/can SUN fit in with other on-line communications, including social media? Grateful to the Health Statistics User Group for their user requirement document, attached, which you should find a useful starting point for your own requirements. Please forward all your requirements, any comments on the HSUG note, etc to the SUF Secretariat <firstname.lastname@example.org> by Friday 4th January 2019.
I look forward to your input to the workshop and to helping shape the requirements for the next version of SUN.
Thank you and Season's Greetings!
